Brian Michael Bendis’ X-Men Arc Reading Order

One of Marvel’s more successful X-Men runs of recent years, although not without its problems.

1. [UA] The full version of Alex’s speech (a central element of this issue) can be seen in Uncanny Avengers #5.
2. Not written by Bendis but part of the arc.
3. This storyline is also a part of the Superior Spider-Man Arc Reading Order.
4. [AA] Laura has been off in a truly regrettable series called Avengers Arena, which was basically The Hunger Games with teenage superheroes, and pretty much the worst thing Marvel has published this century. Read all three volumes if you must, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
5. [IN] This issue is a part of the Inhumanity storyline.
6. [CY] Young Cyclops goes into space with his dad at the end of this story, to have awesome adventures in his own title. Check out both volumes of his solo book.
7. Issues #38 and #39 are chapters 4 and 5 respectively of The Black Vortex. A full Reading Order for that event can be found here.
8. [SW] What came next? There was only Secret Wars
9. {gg] Post-Secret Wars, Kitty’s story continued in the Bendis-written Guardians of the Galaxy title.
